For the past week we have been attending WACD-TC classes, which have focused on gender and the different roles in society. I found this week to be interesting when we were given the opportunity to compare not only the different villages within the country but also being able to compare Gambian traditions with those in Canada. We spent the week working in groups on various activities and each one was focused on looking at gender roles in a different way. At the end of the week we had to say good-bye to everyone in the class since we wouldn’t be returning the next week to finish the module since we all had to return to our projects. After leaving the class we went to the airport since Lindsay was leaving for Malawi to continue her summer placement working on various projects there.
